Ulcer

A story that began at an altar
But ended beyond the pyre

While his heart he did surrender,
For the promise of a wonder
It kept him waiting for ever
Subjecting him to torture

He fell in the nether
Over and over
Wishing for a saviour
But there was his lover

Watching him going under
In the unflickering fire
Her eyes manic with pleasure
He saw her rancor, so bitter

And as she broke into laughter
Then came the reaper, looking for fodder

Re-routed

I ask of me:
What would I be?
A beast in a cyst?
Would I even exist?

Enclosed and pulsating,
Stretching my membrane
Taut from fear of exploding again
Being spilt and unable to breathe in

All that would probably be,
Were it not for that lady
Goals redefined and a life found,
To her, I am eternally bound

Crystalline

Lost in a world where wrong rules over right,
Nobody cares to see our plight

Born devoid of want,
We stand here, still vivant and gaunt

The void devours us, regurgitating our remains
In our chest, the emptiness reigns

There's nobody around when we hit the ground
The world moves on, not a helping hand, none

No purpose whatsoever to this damned existence
For there's no place for an unstained conscience

This is today's society, look and you will see
For though we are alone, we are not tainted to the bone

So reflect upon your actions and repent,
Before the torment makes you lament

To this we say "Amen" and may you be part of the ascent
And not amongst those heading for the descent
