S.o.S. 2021

What an age we are living in, where every little good that happens is a highlight instead of being the norm. It says a lot of the amount of troubles we all have to face every single day.

Some have more troubles to face than others, and that is a problem of the way society has been built over the last few decades - which most of us are aware of. We are all working towards making it better in our own way, prioritising and tackling the topics that matter to each one of us individually.

There are a lot of things to fix in this current world we are living in. Some might say too many even. But we are all defending something close to our heart, even those who appear to be opposing whatever we are trying to fight for.

Whether you are at the lowest end of the pyramid or at the top, we are all responsible for the current state of things.

What matters is your thought process behind each decision you make, who you are working for and what are you working towards, and how conscious you are of the impact - both negative and positive - of any decision you make when you do have the opportunity to do so. Studies say the regular adult makes 35 000 choices a day.

So, of course you will make mistakes, this is a trait of being human, and we have multiple frameworks to ensure you do not keep going on committing mistakes, but most mistakes you can repent for, be it through the framework (law being one of them) or outside of it.

Outside of the framework though, it comes down to your sense of responsibility, your moral compass, your courage to look back, your willingness to accept criticism and input from other parties - to evaluate how you should move ahead to ensure you do not commit such a mistake again. Even from the darkest corners of your life, you can bounce back and be an inspiration to others e.g. literary works from prisoners.

That's being agile in your life, that's accepting that you are a continuous work in progress, iterating not towards perfection, but rather making the world a better place for whoever inherits it after you, so they still understand the work that still has to be done and how they can help, rather than them just sitting back and enjoying the privilege they have, or worse, repeating your mistake in a worse way.

This sense of responsibility is your biggest legacy that you can leave your progeny, protégés and the generations to come.
With a pandemic about, a host of inequality issues, and a system based on punishment and cancellation rather than education, restoration and correction, it is easy to be overwhelmed by everything and wear blinkers.

It is normal to let your genetic survival instincts prevail so you can focus on your own issues and stay in your echo chamber, but maybe reach out to someone with different views than yours, hear their arguments, understand them with an open heart. Not an open mind. See the human first. Imagine a bit, what if it were your loved one instead of that stranger.
Hack your own cognitive biases, let your heart bloom in the face of the human in front of you.

Because right now, and for a better future, that's what the world needs the most.

Heart.

Deracinate

Governance is like gardening

But when the powers that be take off their gloves

The ones that need protecting, keep suffering

Suited ravens and crows devouring the bleeding doves

The fragile growing stems and shoots

Which make up our Nation, our People

Rage into thorns instead of fruits

To the poisoners on the steeple

Who were put on there to defend their freedom

Now themselves the Nation's demons

Silencing the masses's voices without any reason

Illegally covering their own treason

It comes down to the citizens themselves

To descend from their shelves

To repel and oust the incompetent cartel

To use their intel and yell for Liberty's bell

For this is the way we honour our brave ancestors,

Our sons, daughters and their futures

By standing up and saying no to going astray

Maybe, just maybe one blessed day,

We truly may

Celebrate our Independence Day

侘寂

Trying to lay your head on the bed

To be assaulted by nightmares instead

Fervors all suppressed and outta zest

Terrors being bred and force-fed

Y'all need a rest from this stress

Coz none of you deserve this

Being bombarded east & west

By the agenda in Man's evil manifest

Look inside your own chest

Confess to the raging storm abreast

For that is the 1st step on Healing Express

To filtering out the distress, detest and pest

Drain that abscess before its progress

Leaves you with its crest of unrest

For you, child, deserve the Universe's very best

And never forget: you are much loved and blessed

C18H21NO3

What a joke it is
That months and years
Can be so rapidly sheared
By too many damned words

How funny it is
That despite so many talks
My heart was never your landmark
And you left me, out cold to freeze

How comic it is
That you don't even realise
Not facing & rectifying your mistakes
Made reasons and whys, but fake

How dumb it is
That I thought you would never
Play me ever
But you did bring me to my knees

How unfair it is
That I will never hear her
Her stories & her sleepy purr
Stockholmed me at ease

How easy it is
Cutting me out
Sick and exiled out
With the keychain & memoirs

How lucky it is
That we never took any vows
For you would have broken them already
In health ready, but in sickness gone baby!

So that's how it is,
Therapy and burning energy
Sedates me to sleep
So I cannot weep

Yet...
Despite the shove
Only love
No regret

Incandescent

Lift up your head
Walk on in the storm

Succumb not to the dread
Be, don't conform

For that would kill you
Your identity, individuality

Don't transform, push through
Shred the pressure of community

That sadistic cage so red
So many pretty souls bled

Shine on, spread those wings
Show off your unique zing

Coz if you're subdued or prude
You're gonna get screwed

Opus

Have a peek, a deep look
At a love held for the book

The smell of a new one
An olfactory frenzy to fan

The flipping of pages
Gripping the readers

While they discover
The next stages

Be it a graphic novel
Or literary debacle

All of them have souls
The reader's holy scrolls

Each one is a gospel
And I am the only apostle

Veneer

Aimlessly erring
A life without bearing

Knifing, wolfing, gulping
Instead of living
Moments
Blinded by societal currents

Content of not knowing
Not wondering
If you're a human, doing
rather than a human, being?

Not realising you are fusing
With the mask you're wearing

And so the mask you will become
Just another lost in the maelstrom

Veto

Let's talk of politics
Drama worthy of Oscar flicks

Of the conniving and corrupt
Pretending to not be inept

One day fervent liberal,
The next die-hard conservative

Turncoats waiting to deceive
From the trivial to visceral

But who am I to be critical,
Of my fellow criminal?

Cataclysm

Write of the World
Of morality blurred

Of taxes, debt and financial turd
Of education, now a hollow word

Of war, feeding media
Articles and news inciting paranoia

Ignorance engendering hate
Hate catalysing crime

None willing to wait
Such is our time

The time of Mammon's creed
Money, things and Greed

One can ask how and why
Believe in his lie

But the only bona fide
The world's heart already died

Raison d'être

Dictated by fate and molded by society
We learn to hate that which we cannot be

With a chained heart,
And a tortured soul
Both so far apart,
And we're just a stagnant shoal

Striving to comprehend the Maker's art,
yet unable to be whole
All following a set road from the start,
freedom left out in the cold

So many secrets untold,
So many hearts in fear's hold
Countless souls with clipped wings,
All too afraid to get rid of the strings

All that the Devil covets
Just more ignorant puppets

Re-routed

I ask of me:
What would I be?
A beast in a cyst?
Would I even exist?

Enclosed and pulsating,
Stretching my membrane
Taut from fear of exploding again
Being spilt and unable to breathe in

All that would probably be,
Were it not for that lady
Goals redefined and a life found,
To her, I am eternally bound

Crystalline

Lost in a world where wrong rules over right,
Nobody cares to see our plight

Born devoid of want,
We stand here, still vivant and gaunt

The void devours us, regurgitating our remains
In our chest, the emptiness reigns

There's nobody around when we hit the ground
The world moves on, not a helping hand, none

No purpose whatsoever to this damned existence
For there's no place for an unstained conscience

This is today's society, look and you will see
For though we are alone, we are not tainted to the bone

So reflect upon your actions and repent,
Before the torment makes you lament

To this we say "Amen" and may you be part of the ascent
And not amongst those heading for the descent

Leech

The words are demons
Eating away at me

The phrases are weapons
Used for torturing me

They haunt, and devour
Always seeking power

Never the redeemer
Least of all the saviour

Feeding on my soul time and again
Giving me pleasure and pain

I restrain the urge but fail
As the syllables wail

For this is the needle
With which you never fiddle

An eternal riddle
My unsolvable puzzle

Depravity

Living for fear
Hearing the fall of a tear

Ecstasy, exhilaration
Arousing, exciting

Lost in this affliction
Alone, cloning and conjuring

Blissful utopia of mine
Iniquity ruling the mind

Nihilism is indeed the real deal
As round and round, goes Time's Wheel

Reflux

A wind of roses blew
As I whispered a song for you
Whispering under my breath
My veins bulging with meth

Dark and deep was the abyss
When my love for you went amiss
But still I kept on singing
In hope you would hear something

But then a wind of thorns blew
One which I couldn't get through
For you, I fought on
Even broken, I held on

Even after so much and so long
I don't even know where I went wrong
Never did I stop whispering my song
Even though, maybe to you, I didn't belong...

Veiled

The mask is there
For you not to stare
Not to look into these eyes
And find nothing there
Besides the things you despise

Forget not, remember
What I did to them in Winter
The heartless massacre
Judgement I had to deliver

Pinkish tinge of snow
Frozen blood that couldn't flow
Their carcasses food for the crow

An agent of chaos
I am the reason for your loss
Your lethal enemy
The only cause for this anarchy

So love me not,
Pity the abyss in me
Kill me, set me free
Gift me death and let me rot

Seraphim

Servants of the Divine light
Tolerate morning, noon and night
Forgiveness sought for this might

Limitless power
Uncontrollable anger
Souls as wager

Half-dead corpses
Drawn are their last few breaths
Woeful yet meaningful deaths

Mangled bodies crawling in agony
Seeketh they,
Riddance from their misery

Thus our reason for being
Born from the darkness within

To souls wicked and poor alike,
Be it moments of war or peace
We offer release
By the sword and the pike

Eternal Genesis

A dying sun burns away
As the wind blows astray

Carrying a fulfilling loneliness,
The higher being's companion
Who seeks redemption
Finding nothing save everlasting emptiness

Shadowed by a darkness eternal
Plaguing the cursed immortal

Upon this hill
Overlooking their graves
The air above their tombstones so still
One of immortality's slaves

Evil sheathed in these veins
Bound by immortality's chains
Blood that simply won't clot
Flesh and bones which rot not

A wish left unfulfilled:
For the freedom I seeketh
Lies in naught but death

Ascension

It's been so long
Covering these miles of deserted plains
Alone all along
Failing over and over again
To find someone to whom she'd belong
Wishing she could break free from sanity
Wanting to flee from this anomaly
Coz the other side is more tempting than this reality

She's still walking that desolate road
Her soles have run thin
Her feet tired from bleedin'
Ridding herself of that needless load
Feelings and strings in Life's bin
She's slipping away from sanity
Coz the other side is better than this reality
Yeah, she is breaking free

She is finally conversing with nature
Experiencing happiness and pleasure
This utopia is where she's found solace
It's her own little haven
Wiping off that last tear from her face
Slowing down her plasma's pace
And she falls in a haze
She has broken free
Ready to flee
Yes! This road she chose is insanity
Coz it's better than your reality

Zenith

The night is blind
Gaia's cries have been stifled yet another time
Faster than the wind,
Zeus's path He'll climb
with only one thing in mind:
Annihilate those of the light

Gaia resounds with the march
of His minions
Only to the top,
just the summum!!
Find him, release the seal;
Let the world hear his pain,
that suffering of being locked away,
that ache of being kept abay.

The blooded moon drips,
The throne is finally within grasp.
Only absolute power He seeks,
for his kind to reign!
That unquenchable thirst for power
makes his pulse race once again!

The path he follows
is the one laid out by Zeus.
He's been in Heaven,
Cerberus was his friend
and he's been to Hell's doors.
What is pitch black
only he knows.

Looking around,
hears no sound;
Howling wolf spirit,
his skull split,
He will continue to strive
coz that's his purpose,
that's why he was born
and that's why he's alive.
