Palestine

What virtues do we hold dear

In a world ruled by fear?

Kindness, compassion, a conscience clear

Actions in gear so we near peace and cheer

But this peace is on a lease

Subject to the whims of those who police

Those with a platform and a mouth-piece

Steering narratives through a press release

Such is their masterpiece

Making their monstrosities approbative

All with a sneer and a jeer

Erasing innocents and natives, without a tear

Strategies and fallacies spread across the sphere

Atrocities touted as victories sincere

To please the puppeteer, the racketeer

Victims being told to bear and adhere

Yet they persevere with no fear

Their courage has no peer and that, we revere

Everywhere, those who speak get a spear

Remember, it's still better than a phosphorus sear

Let's keep watching this historical souvenir

3000 stolen futures under "liberation's" snare

Their blood staining our souls' veneer

75 years of this genocidal premiere

Autumn

It is the icy whispers of nostalgia
Hidden in the quiet rustle of dried leaves

That haunting voice still resounds and deaves
Coursing through your soul like leukaemia

It is the screech of a morning gale
Tearing your eyes up a cold sunny day

That suffocating bulge stuck in your airway
Not unlike the enormity of a whale

It is the constant blows of hail
Beating your melody down to a lament

As you're chained in a waltz with the torment
Succumbing to the mental assail

Though every word had a story to tell
Discard them away, like the rain that fell

For they are the autumn of your life
And the reason for your strife

The Parting

I still remember those summer noons; when your eyes sparkled and made me swoon
I still remember those early mornings ; when on seeing you deep asleep, I thanked Allah for my blessings
I still remember those passionate nights; when we would be entwined, holding each other with all our might
I still remember every second; when you and I were in love before it all got siphoned.

Remember the golden days; when we found our happiest ways
Remember those silent streets; where walking along together was a treat
Remember those silly moments of anticipation; when the thought of meeting was the biggest passion
Remember that wintery night; when being together was the only guiding light

Do remember the good times we had; and forget those that make you sad
Do remember the love you felt; and the desserts we ate when we were svelte

And when you do; forget not to tell me that you love me too...

Hypothermia

It is winter in my heart
Icy gales blow through my chest
Tearing me apart
Leaving me to my demons' behest

Shrouded in an opaque veil
The fog falls on my soul
It brings along whispers of a tale
Alas! It only makes my soul wail

My breaths, lost
For my lungs are coated in frost
I heave time and again
And each inhalation spikes the pain

The snow falls and blankets
My memories, it covets
Pearly white and shiny
Frozen underneath, blue me

Crux

This enslaved heart
With all of its beats unheard

Like the silence of a caged bird
With its vocals torn apart

To break that cage of solitude
Seeking riddance from this servitude

Alas! An impasse!
As the heart is the servant of a lass

And when it comes to freedom
The heart has not that wisdom

Famine

Too many words were put to paper
In your name, my only lover
I tried detox over the summer,
Yet in November, there you were

Once more a beggar,for a little love
You're what dreams are made of
Castles in clouds, I keep on building
Desperate, I keep on clinging

To that twisted something of a bond
Hoping you will someday respond
Believe in me, this is no facade
Don't take my feelings for a masquerade

The few memories I have of you
Made my dreams and sanity go askew
No false hopes, I just put those in my head
Or was every part of me being read?

More than these words I've expressed
How to tell you this, without seeming obsessed?
Do you feel the same? I guess I'll never know
Yet I'll try asking you next time we say Hello

For I am but hungry a slave
And you are my only crave

Wolverine

Immortal, I live on
Without any memories of my past
I seek redemption
For all those felled by my blades

This life goes by fast
As I roar through the decades
My smile is a facade
As my life, a charade

Haunted by the woman I love
Who cherishes another
My fist clenches in a glove
As my chest is torn asunder

Masked and alone I stand
Even though broken
I watch the pendulum
While cursing adamantium

My existence is a disease,
Without any vaccine
Feared by Hades,
I am Wolverine

Plagued

Born and bred
Of hate, pain and fear
I was constantly fed
Until I dropped that last tear

Feeling that disease spread
Disgust made way as fear fled
I could feel it squirm and scream
Flowing through my bloodstream

Filled with dread
I was taunted as I bled:
"I would never truly be dead
For my home is your head"

Puppeteer

Everything fades into insignificance
As she makes her appearance

Like a freshly bloomed daisy
Spring making it all better to see
Like the blossoms on a cherry tree
She has grace, majesty

She wasn't human, she was a deity
Such was her beauty
So lost was I, in my passion
That I didn't notice her deception

She was playing me
Her new toy
Still I bore the agony
For atleast I brought her joy

Until the day I broke
And I found myself in a corner
Trying to put myself together
And realised: I'm just a joke

Leech

The words are demons
Eating away at me

The phrases are weapons
Used for torturing me

They haunt, and devour
Always seeking power

Never the redeemer
Least of all the saviour

Feeding on my soul time and again
Giving me pleasure and pain

I restrain the urge but fail
As the syllables wail

For this is the needle
With which you never fiddle

An eternal riddle
My unsolvable puzzle

Decay

A heart alive
Undying, constantly thriving
It started feeling
You being the drive

Hope came along
It started dreaming, cherishing

It kept on wishing
Ignorant and wrong

Realisation dawned
Love dethroned and hope condoned

Such was the pain
Everything looked mundane

A heart's last beat
The cause of such deceit
A true love lost
The heart crumbled to dust

Nomad

No place to call home
For all this while
During this exile
She was left to roam

Striving to survive
Trying to stay alive
Mustering every ounce of will
In trying to resist evil

Her close ones never held out a hand
Showing just how much they cared
They only just smeared
So she had to take a stand

She weaved herself a cocoon
Closed out the world
Got labelled a loon
And inside she curled and unfurled

For so long she was left alone
Her chest now harbours a stone
In hate she is clad
As she lost the little humanity she hadq

Hunger

Inspiration just won't come
A lack of momentum

An unsolvable conundrum
An answer none can fathom

Ebbed has been the flow
Venom engendering rage and woe

Stuck inside for the meantime
Frustration rules prime

Neurons without spark
Not a single useful quark

This is no passion
It's more of an addiction

And the ink flows on
Describing this verbal starvation

Descent

There used to be a little boy
Always in the corner, deemed coy
Nobody knew what lay beneath
He was only a sheath

The horrors he had to witness
Cause he couldn't hide
Made him hollow inside
An empty shell with an abscess

A sinful being that kept him awake at night
The pulsing wrath, hate and spite
Squirming and screaming to be let out
Trying to make him give in, blackout

One day he could no longer take it
He had reached his limit
He gave in to the wicked voice within
Spread onto his face was an evil grin

He was no longer just a vessel
For he was now One
With the vile creature from Hell
The familiar voice from inside
The Unholy Guide

Desertion

I've fallen again
All honor down the drain
Transcended by the ecstasy
The pleasure it offered to me

Reasoning gone in a whiff
Death slowly creeping on with each sniff
I can feel its breath down my neck
As I get closer to being a wreck

Indeed I am broken
The end is no longer an if but a when
You're to blame, yes, you friend
Coz you never even extended a helping hand

You heard not my silent cries of help
My torn soul's shouts and yelps
No one to hear, none of you near
I shed the very last tear

And I delved further down the darkness
To make up for this emptiness
And I found this addiction, my adulteress
That precious temptress, my only empress

Faded

I woke up this morning
With my eyes burning
And tears streaking

You were never mine
Yet, why, oh why do I pine?
Everything's gonna be just fine

That's the subject of my monologue
Since I was enchanted by you, mystagogue
It helps a little to pull through
In trying to get over you

Yes, I thought I was healed
But I'm lost in this wreckage
Unable to register the message
In your love's thorny field

I have understood
But this heart of mine
It does still whine
Its passion is too crude

Please, Maiden, don't misunderstand
I've tried to be the better man
And I wish you well
But more importantly, farewell
For I have sought refuge in Mnemosyne's den

Eternal Genesis

A dying sun burns away
As the wind blows astray

Carrying a fulfilling loneliness,
The higher being's companion
Who seeks redemption
Finding nothing save everlasting emptiness

Shadowed by a darkness eternal
Plaguing the cursed immortal

Upon this hill
Overlooking their graves
The air above their tombstones so still
One of immortality's slaves

Evil sheathed in these veins
Bound by immortality's chains
Blood that simply won't clot
Flesh and bones which rot not

A wish left unfulfilled:
For the freedom I seeketh
Lies in naught but death

Reflections

Prey of constant headaches
Countless thoughts overload this brain
Through those cells, a pain no pill can attenuate
Tearing at every tissue and membrane

A free soul, happy as a lark
Yet something I feel I do lack
That thing clouded, shrouded in black
Seeking it, this seemingly never-ending road I walk

Threatened by this epiphany
My state of mind darkens,
Questioning my damned existence
Irking the shadows fleeting through this silence

A measly little clue is what I need
A hint as to what lies beneath a shroud so opaque
My starving soul has started to crack
It will wither, fade, lest it's got that feed

My fears and doubts flow downstream
But I follow this path with the same dream
The journey continues with this vision
The very old outlook that goes beyond the horizon

Echo

Treading down this soggy lane
Pins and needles prodding his foggy brain
This is not just another nightmare
For this is where he was stripped bare

Missing links in the memories flooding
The photographic kaleidoscope keeps on playing
Stringing together the hazy stills
Amnesia or side-effects of those pills?

Groggy, he walks with that swagger
Longing to steady for a breather
A chill creeping down his spine
Ruling the land of the blind

This strange voice in his head
Different from the usual threat
This looming menace aiming for the zenith
Tormenting the dormant that crawl beneath

This is a fragment of his visions,
His hallucinations, his schizophrenic conversations

Requiem

In matters of the heart I indulge not,
For mine was crushed and left to rot

By a Maiden who I admire
By that Lady who left me sinking in this quagmire

I cursed myself for loving her
My nemesis, the heart-slayer

Now, slumped in a corner
I'm awaiting the reaper

My wrists slashed, my limp body
I'm itching to cease to be

Noticing my reflection in the window pane
Seeing my face was blue

Like the blood running down the drain,
I was finally through!
